Learning objectives

The objective of the course is to give evidence of the development of managerial skills of nurses in organizational reality through presentation of case studies and innovative experiences.

Course unit content

<p>The course aims to demonstrate the managerial role played by nurses in public health agencies. To this end, after a brief introduction to the national health service (SSN) and the international context, there will be presentations from various colleagues from different fields who all cover diverse roles, both in terms of skills and in terms of responsibilities, but who all have in common a managerial aspect to their work. <br />

Introduction. <br />
The evolution of the national health service (SSN) and comparisons with international health systems. <br />
Budget evaluation for the nursing profession. <br />
The quality and the role of the Head Nurse in the development of models with particular regard to the JCI award for excellence. <br />
Risk management and the role of the nursing profession. <br />
The Informative System for Nurse Performance (SIPI) for assessing welfare. <br />
Application at the Crema hospital agency (AO) and homogenous diagnosis group (DRG) financing. <br />
The new care models. Case management. Experience gained at the local health agency (ASL) in Parma. <br />
