Knowledge of the interactions between the organism and the environmental pathogenic factors.

Course unit content

Etiology. The biological homeostasis. Healt and diseases. <br />
Intrinsic pathogenic factors: mutations and mechanisms of DNA repair. Genetic disorders. <br />
Disorders with multifactorial inheritance. <br />
Extrinsic pathogenic factors: physical, chemical and biological factors. <br />
Physical environment: radiation injury, mechanical force, thermal injuries. <br />
Nutritional pathology: nutritional deficiencies, obesity, vitamin deficiencies. Chemoprevention of cancer. Food-stuff contamination: poisonous foods.<br />
Individual contaminations by habit-forming practice. Smoke, alcohol. <br />
