Learning objectives

To learn about cardiac and respiratory physiology and semiology. <br />

Prerequisites

Anatomy of the cardiocirculatory and respiratory apparatuses. <br />

Course unit content

<p>Cardiac semiology: cardiac auscultation (heart sounds, classification of heart murmurs). Cardiac symptoms. <br />
Physiology of the respiratory apparatus: ventilation, gas diffusion. Semiology of the respiratory apparatus. <br />
Study of ventilatory function: spirometry, helium dilution and body plethysmography. <br />
Evaluation of gas exchange: blood gas analysis and transcutaneous oximetry. <br />
