Prerequisites

basic knowldge of chemistry, physics and geology

Course unit content

The global climate system (atmosphere and chemistry dynamics, ocean-atmosphere interactions) - greenhouse effect - main greenhouse gases and their cycles - atmospheric pollutants - the high-frequency (centennial, decadal-scale) climate changes from historical and natural archives - anthropogenic and natural climate forcings - climate changes and human history - future scenarios of global climate changes - climate risk definitio - action and policy for risk mitigation - the Kyoto protocol
