Course unit content

The course intends to analyse the principal techniques and the statistical tools to support planning, management and sales monitoring. Special attention will be given to the following statistical techniques activities: models of multiple linear regression, modern analyses of the historical series and deseasoning.
The didactic style will start with the problems to arrive at the method. Each lesson, or group of lessons, will begin with the presentation of a real case, of the available data and the questions that could be interesting to ask. The introduction of the various tools is connected to the analysis of the problem. The examples are selected in different applicable contexts. For every statistical method illustrated there will be a reference to an appropriate software application. During the course corporate cases will be analysed, and meetings with professionals of the sector will be fostered.
