Learning objectives

The course trains students by means of practical translation exercises on topical articles and texts in specific fields, whether technical, juridical, scientific, financial etc., introducing the theme of specialist language and the translation of the respective vocabulary into Italian.

Course unit content

The course is designed to train professionals possessing advanced linguistic skills by means of the acquisition of specialist knowledge in specific sectors of language (technological, juridical, scientific, economic, business and so forth), with particular attention dedicated to terminological problems and to specialist language in a general sense. <br />
Graduates who have studied philology and translation science will have a linguistic preparation that can be utilised in work as a translator specialising in specific areas of language, performing translations for companies, international organisations, institutions, public and private organisations, translation centres and so forth. <br />
Graduates who have studied the history of language and communications processes will attain a linguistic preparation suitable for work in the field of publishing, journalism and information, as well as in the area of cultural mediation. <br />
