Learning objectives
The course offers an introduction to a key theme in 18th century German literature. Students will learn how to identify the general trends of the current by means of a detailed study of individual works, exploring the specific characteristics of the phenomenon of Classicism according to its context and the various literary genres. Students will take an active part in this learning process by preparing brief essays on given subjects that will be consigned during the course.

Course unit content
The course looks at a fundamental theme in 18th century German literature: Classicism. Beginning from a detailed and in-depth analysis of certain key works in this current, the origins of the phenomenon will be presented, along with its expression in the various literary genres. <br />
