The transformations of the cities and of urban forms in the contemporary world. The changes in the social composition, the exposition to differences and the fear of the Other. The ecological and political dynamics in the urban contexts. Fears, insecurities and the emergence of the “gated communities”. Conflicts, acknowledgment and reconstruction of social ties and of trust. The participative democracy and the innovative governance practices in the cities. <br />
