Learning objectives
The course aims to render students capable of independently preparing a critical essay and review for publication in a literary journal. <br />
To this end, before the oral exam students are required to submit a critical essay of approximately 5 typewritten pages of 2000 characters each and a review of a literary text. <br />
Possible topics, to which students may assign their own title, will be agreed upon with the course teacher. <br />

Course unit content
Course title (5 learning credits): Travel writing: from the literary essay to reportage. <br />
The course, after dealing with the essay as a literary genre, with particular reference to its various types and communicative forms, will cover travel writing, with reference to nineteenth- and twentieth-century texts and authors. <br />
