Students will acquire essential knowledge of Latin literature and explore a specific line of study, topic and a number of authors in detail through the reading of translated texts.

Course unit content
Course title: <em>Variety of themes and forms in the Latin epigram</em>. <br />
<br />
The subject of the course is the Latin epigram: in tracing the various stages of this literary genre, through the reading of epigrams from different authors and eras, the course will bring out the fact that variety is the distinctive feature of this type of poetic composition. <br />
Specific readings and texts will provided over the course of the lessons. <br />
General part: history of Latin literature from its origins through to the end of the Imperial Age. <br />
