Learning objectives
Provide fundamental concepts, utilising the proper methodological basis, on the subject and principal models of the history of the theatre. In the second unit, also provide concrete examples of the specific research on individual topics regarding the history of the theatrical text in Western culture.
Course unit content

The first unit is an introductory course covering performance models throughout the history of the theatre, with analysis of written examples, scenography and theatrical concepts. The second unit is a specialised course that covers the theory, and analyzed the rewriting of a same plot. Into the specific the passing from opera to music drama libretto from La signora dalle camelie of Dumas fils to la Traviata of Piave-Verdi and from La Tosca of Sardou to Tosca of Illica-Giacosa-Puccini.
