Course unit content

Title: Christianity and the Other Universal Religions in the Late Troeltsch. The three lectures that Troeltsch should have given in Oxford in 1923, and that have been published posthumous in 1924 by F. von Hügel-Kensigton as “Der Historismus und seine Überwindung”, will be placed in their historical context and analysed. The relation of Christianity with its cultural background will be compared to similar relations of the other religions with the respective cultures.
