Learning objectives

To provide the students with theoretical and applicative notions on multidimensional NMR, with attention on paramagnetic, inorganic and bioinorganic systems.

Course unit content

Monodimensional NMR spectroscopy. FT-NMR. Relaxation rates and their determination. Correlation time. Multidimensional NMR. COSY, TOCSY, HETCOR E HMQC spectra. Nuclear Overhauser Effect. NOESY spectra. Elements on analysis of parameters obtained by multidimensional NMR. Elements of n-dimensional experiments. NMR spectra of paramagnetic compounds. Elements on analysis of parameters obtained by NMR spectra of paramagnetic compounds of bioinorganic interest. DOSY and PGSE spectra. Determination and uses of translational diffusion coefficient in solution. Stability constants determination for host-guest systems by NMR.
