Course unit content

<p>Elements of spectroscopy. Frequency, wavelenght and intensity of a radiation. Planck's law and quantized transitions. Electromagnetic spectrum. Absorption, emission, fluorescence and resonance phenomena.<br />
</p>
<p>Kinetics in chemistry. Definition of reaction rate. Factors affecting the reaction rate. Concentration of the reagents. Kinetic law. Orders of reaction. Effect of the temperature. Collisional theory. Activation energy and transition state theory. Catalysis. Effect of radiations.</p>
<p>Exercises on the program of the General and Inorganic Chemistry course.</p>
