Course unit content
<br />Introductios to error analysis II.nd part.<br /> Least-squares method. Best fitting of linear and non-linear functions.<br />Covariance and correlation: correlation coefficient.<br />Reminds of combinatorial analysis. Bernoulli distribution and its asyntotic approximation to Gauss distribution.<br />Poisson distribution. Application: radioactive countings and decays.<br />Test for a distribution.<br />Calibration of a Fe-Constantane termocouple by using fixed reference points (solid-liquid-vapour phase transitions) of different substances (water, indium, gallium, mercury, air).<br />Experimental determination of the (average) specific heat of metals by making use a liquid nitrogen calorimeter.<br />Determination of the specific heat change of a metal (alluminum) at low temperature by making use of a Nernst calorimeter.<br />Study of a black-body radiation: determination of Stefan constant.
