Learning objectives

Aim of the couse is to provide the student with the basic laboratory skill in order to verify and apply the concepts discussed in the general chemistry course. <br />

Prerequisites

Knoledge of the basics of general chemistry required.

Course unit content

<p>1) Titolation of sodium/potassium oxalate with potassium permanganate. Dependence of redox otentials from pH. Titolation of chlorhydric acid with sodium hydroxide and pH indicator (phenophtalein). 2) Solubility and solubility product. Common-ion effect. Solubility variation with temperature and pH. 3) Redox potentials. Comparison of the behaviour of Zn, Pd, Cu in HCl. 4) Chromatography. Application of the concept of polarity.</p>
