Integrated course unit module: GENERAL PATHOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY

Learning objectives

The student will achieve the fundamental knowledge on cell pathology and cell death. Causes and mechanisms of genetic diseases (single-gene disorders) will be treated to simplify the knowledge of gene therapy principles. The subject “Cancer” will be face from molecular, cellular and histological point of view to offer a panorama of the potential biotechnological applications.

4. Neoplasia: Morphologic and biologic properties of tumor cells; The molecular basis of cancer; Tumor progression, invasion and metastasis; Benign and malignant neoplasms; Principles of tumor classification <br />
