Learning objectives

Aim of the class is to gain a more advanced understanding of the topics introduced in ¿Produzione Assistita dal Calcolatore A¿, concerning CAD/CAM and manufacturing process simulation systems. Group projects will be done consisting in the application of commercial software packages to real-life industrial problems and in the development of prototype software applications for solving specific manufacturing-related problems.

Mechanical Drafting, Manufacturing, CAD/CAM A (Disegno Industriale, Tecnologia Meccanica, Produzione Assistita dal Calcolatore A )

Course unit content

Product modelling by means of commercial CAD systems. Machining process planining with commercial CAD/CAM systems and with prototype software applications developed in class. Simulation of manufacturing processes, in particular casting or moulding processes, by means of commercial software applications and by means of software prototypes developed in class.
