Learning objectives


The course has the following objectives: 1. Encourage the acquisition of the main knowledge relating to the construct of emotional regulation in the life cycle; 2. Promote students' knowledge of the link between emotional regulation and adaptation processes in various life contexts; 3. Acquire the knowledge of some tools to assess the emotional regulation ability; 4. Promote in students autonomy of judgment with respect to the theoretical and methodological issues addressed and an adequate ability to communicate on the aspects investigated and learned. For a more complete understanding of the training objectives, please refer to the reading of the learning outcomes expected following the completion of this training course.

Prerequisites


The basic knowledge of the main theories and of the main models of cognitive, social and emotional development from infancy through adolescence will be considered pre-requisites necessary.

Course unit content


The course (4 credits) aims to deepen the construct of regulation of emotions, as a fundamental component of human development, highlighting in particular the role of emotion regulation in the process of adaptation of individuals to different contexts. The following topics will be specifically examined: 1) the stages of development of the ability to regulate emotions in typical and atypical situations (1 cfu), 2) the main theoretical models for understanding etiological factors (1 cfu); 3) the main methodologies used in the study and assessment of the regulation of emotions (1 cfu); 4) intervention and training aimed at promoting emotional regulation in the developmental age (1 cfu).

Teaching methods


The course will be offered in blended mode and in Italian. It is structured in pre-recorded video lessons, synchronous classroom lessons, virtual classrooms and collaborative activities (Forum). In the classroom, different learning methodologies will be proposed: explanations, thematic studies, interactive spaces for group discussion and analysis of real cases and situations, to favor the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge to professional contexts, autonomy of judgment and communication skills

Assessment methods and criteria


The oral exam - which will take place after the end of the lessons - will consist of an interview, covering three different topics among those addressed in the course and lasting about 15 minutes. The candidate will have to demonstrate that he / she has mastered the knowledge relating to the requested topics, demonstrating that he / she knows how to insert them in the general reference context.
Oral exams take place over the course of the educational calendar of the training offer and for each session the student who intends to take it must register using the EsseTre platform.
The test evaluation indicators are:
- Ability to expose knowledge (20%)
- Ability to connect knowledge (20%);
- Mastery of legal language (20%);
- Ability to discuss topics (20%)
- Ability to deepen the topics (20%).
The grade is expressed out of thirty and the achievement of the threshold of 18/30 is necessary for the purpose of passing the exam (ie a reasonably sufficient preparation both from the point of view of the contents and from the point of view of the display language used).
