Learning objectives
To get the students closer to the KNOWLEDGE of performative practices, intended both as an art form (theatre, dance, opera) and as a way of communication and expressionthat i s adopted in several fields of contemporary societies (culture, politics...).
By following the classes, students should be able to identify the specific shape of performative practices and their ways of working within the vast realm of contemporaneity; they will acquire a good use of specific terminology and the capacity for using it in communication in an appropriate way

Course unit content
The course introduces to the critical knowledge of theatre and of all kind of performative practices, of their process of creation and fruition, in the context of contempoirary social and cultural life and public sphere. We will take in consideration the biological and social bais of performative languages and their function and uses in contemporary societies.
We will start by making clear some notions, like 'theatre', 'representation', 'performance', then we will go through the broad spectrum of live arts, those arts that 'put into live', that live in the direct interaction between performers and their publics, between those who act and those invited to assist the perdormance.
The approach need to be interdisciplinary: performance is approached as a 'language' that is common to different fields. On the one side, the field of theatrical productin: theatre studies will help to read this art field, with his codificated rules as far as palying, playwriting, stage-directing. On the other field,

Chi sostiene l’esame interamente da non frequentante deve infine aggiungere, oltre al libro di Allegri, anche l’ascolto di 4 lezioni registrate, connesse al power point ARTI PERFORMATIVE: lezioni 3-6 registrate nel 2020 (12,13,17 e 19 novembre), reperibili a Corso: LINGUAGGI TEATRALI DELLA CONTEMPORANEITA' (CON WORKSHOP) (unipr.it). Si segnala che per accedere all’ascolto delle registrazioni è necessario prima iscriversi al team del corso, seguendo le istruzioni riportate nel primo degli annunci della piattaforma ELLY 2020 sopra indicata.
