Learning objectives
The goal of the course is to provide students with basic concepts regarding analytical techniques useful for characterising and identifying health-related substances.
Course unit content
<br />· Introductory part covering safety and injury prevention issues: general norms for laboratory procedures.<br />· Identification of organic substances: combustion test and Lassaigne test.<br />· Elements of Instrumental Analysis<br />· Qualitative and quantitative applications of the major methods of identification and isolation of health-related substances.<br />· Experimental part with lab work involving qualitative/quantitative determination of relevant organic substances.
