Learning objectives
Introduction to research methodology, in particular:
- Acquire mastery in the analysis of the evolution of the different levels of research in health care areas in general and in the specific disciplinary area relating to class 3 (L / SNT3 Class of degrees in technical health professions).
- Develop the ability to:
to. identify search problems
b. formulate hypotheses and purposes on which to define the practical research procedure
c. develop the ability to carry out the critical analysis of the reference literature
d. know the main investigation tools for the study of phenomena relating to the health and care of clients in the various areas of professional practice
Acquire basic elements of health and business economics, in particular:
- Acquire the basic concepts of business-economic analysis applied to health systems (health
public, private and accredited private);
- Acquire an initial awareness about the functioning of companies and experiment
a first observation of corporate phenomena in the public and private - private health sector
accredited;
- Understand the specificities of the health sector
- Understand the complexity of the management and organization of healthcare companies, in light of the emerging challenges in the Italian healthcare sector
- Allow students to know and understand business economics, the concepts of managerial skills in healthcare management.
Acquire basic elements about the communicative relationship between social actors, in particular:
- to know the messages, the codes, and the communication channels
- understand the main theories concerning communication processes and the semantics of communication
- understand the relational aspects in health communication, as well as the relationship between communication and behavior in the health sector.

The cycle of lessons provides the basic notions relating to:
- research methodology in the health sector;
- quantitative research and qualitative research;
- elements for a correct reading and use of the research;
- methods of applying scientific evidence to work practice;

Healthcare needs, supply and demand, accreditation and financing procedures for Healthcare Trusts; - health management according to criteria inspired by effectiveness and efficiency;

Teaching methods
Interactive lessons and laboratory teaching.
Lessons will take place in the presence, in compliance with safety standards, except for further provisions due to the possible continuation of the health emergency. The teaching material will be deposited on the specific platform with access reserved for students (Elly) and will include the detailed program, any iconographic presentations, audio-video support or video recording of the lessons.
Assessment methods and criteria
As regards the parts of "Research methodology" and "Business and health economics", the exam will be held in oral form.
The part relating to the “Health communication laboratory” provides for a written exam (with open and closed answers).
For the oral exam part: if due to the persistence of the health emergency it is necessary to adopt the remote modality for the exams, we will proceed as follows:
- remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
For the written exam part: structured written test conducted in person. If due to the persistence of the health emergency it is necessary to adopt the remote mode for the exams, we will proceed as follows: remotely (via Teams and Elly). The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions on the course contents (reference texts + documents uploaded to Elly during the course). There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

The final grade will correspond to the weighted average (based on the CFU relative to each module) of the assessments obtained in the oral and written tests, expressed out of thirty.
