Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows the technical characteristics of the exercises and training to improve strength and endurance sport performace. The student will be also capable of processing assessment test to determine the characteristics that have to be trained.

Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows and uses the main training methods for the different motor skills and to improve performance.

Making judgements
At the end of the course the student is able to choose and use the main training methods, to increase sport performance, differentiating the load based on individual performance for both the type of sport and according to age and gender

Communication skills
the student must use technical terminology

Learning skills
the student must be able to summarize a brief technical text

The objectives of teaching and its contents regard area D, annex b of the d.m. 616.

General principles and programming of training

Evaluation and planning of sport training

Full programme

Training theory and science; training and trainability; the components of sports performance capacity; performance development; the principles of sports training; planning and organization of the training process; training control; training and periodization; sports competitions; research and promotion of talent.
Resistance training: anatomical-physiological effects, methods and control tests.
Strength training: anatomical-physiological effects, methods and control tests.
Coordination capacity training: methods and control tests.

Teaching methods

Oral lessons and practice.
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.

Assessment methods and criteria

Test (multiple choice) on the main topics of the course.
The preparation of the student will be considered acceptable with 18/30 correct answers
