General aspects of the epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases. Healthcare associated infections.
Full programme
Epidemiology of infectious diseases:
host parasite relationship, sources and reservoirs of infection, mode of transmission, mode of appearance of infectious diseases in the population.
Preventive intervention levels: Primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary prevention.
Direct and indirect prophylaxis of infectious diseases.
Direct prophylaxis of infectious diseases: notification, diagnostic assessment, isolation, cleaning, disinfection, antisepsis, aspsis, sterilization, vaccine prophylaxis,
passive immunoprophylaxis, chemoprophylaxis. Healthcare associated infections. Hand hygiene.
