Learning objectives

Knowledge of growth in pediatric age, emphasizing the environmental influences in order to reach an appropiate level of competence and professionalism.

1) Definition and general principles of auxology; 2) Growth in pediatric age; 3) Intrinsic factors regulating growth; 4) Extrinsic factors regulating growth; 5) Nutrition and physical activity; 6) Methods for studying growth of weight and height; 7)Definition of puberty; 8) Abnormalities of timing of puberty; 9) diseases of puberty: precocious and delayed puberty.
