Learning objectives

Providing students with theoretical tools to tackle childhood cerebral palsy from a rehabilitative point of view
Increase assessment capabilities for observed clinical signs
Leading students to recognize signs of childhood cerebral palsy, identify problems and identify possible therapeutic solutions

Course unit content

Information for the evaluation and treatment of childhood cerebral palsy of major congenital deformities
CELEBRAL PALSY
Definition and general concepts
The motor problem, the perceptual problem, the intentional problem.
Classification of various forms of PCI and natural history. Functional analysis: the sitting position, the walk and the manipulation
Recognition of clinical signs useful to identify issues of rehabilitative interest and the setting of the rehabilitative project according to clinical forms.
DEFORMITY
FOOT (classification and criteria useful for rehabilitative evaluation and treatment)
STIFF NECK (classification and criteria useful for rehabilitative evaluation and treatment)
