Learning objectives
The aim is to provide an experience of execution, management and presentation of a project, with:
- knowledge and understanding of the state-of-the-art;
- knowledge of the technical tools (hardware/software) needed;
- ability to apply knowledge and understanding operating autonomously.
The student is encouraged to identify the best strategy for solving practical or theoretical problems.
In his activity he has to present orally and in written form the steps and results, demonstrating analysis and synthesis skills.
The student increases his or her self-study skills by consulting the technical and scientific literature on his or her own.
Prerequisites
For admission to the final exam, the student must have successfully passed, within ten days of the date fixed for the exam, the assessment relating to all the activities provided for in the official study plan for a total of at least 96 credits.
Course unit content
The final test for obtaining a master's degree consists of an activity of design or analysis in the field of electronic engineering, agreed with a lecturer, and developed by the student with a personal contribution, followed by the drafting of a written report (thesis) and its discussion before the commission of master's degree.

Teaching methods
Practical design, measurement or analysis activities in the field of electrical engineering under the guidance of the supervisor.
Assessment methods and criteria
In one of the three sessions of the Master's degree exams (summer, autumn and winter) the student will present, in Italian or English, in front of a board of at least 5 members, the result of his thesis activity, accompanied by a detailed document that can be written in English with a large summary in Italian.
