Learning objectives
The aim of this course is to acquire elementary skills in oral and written Chinese. At the end of module A, the student will know the structure of the simple sentence and will be able to manage simple information about daily life topics.

Course unit content
The course aims to introduce the student to the study of Chinese language, starting from the bases of the writing system, phonetics and grammar. The course will provide the basic grammatical structure of the Chinese sentence, basic comprehension and interaction skills. Detailed program:
-pinyin phonetic transcription system
-phonetic and tone
-affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences
-verbs and adjectives
-nominal determination
-adverbs
-verbs in series, double object verbs, internal object verbs
-determination of time

Teaching methods
The course will take place through individual and group lectures and exercises, aimed at consolidating grammatical topics, pronunciation, oral and written skills.
Assessment methods and criteria
final written and oral exams.
Written test: examination of grammar and characters knowledge.
Oral test: examination of language skills (reading, speaking and written comprehension and interaction) and cultural contents presented in the program.
The final mark will be the result of written and oral test.
