Learning objectives
<br />To transmit to the student the necessary knowledge to enable him/her to make diagnoses, draw up a clinical picture, make a global logopedic assessment and plan the rehabilitation programme for the main disorders occurring during the years of development.<br />Define the main indications of the Cochlear Implant in the treatment of severe or total bilateral deafness.<br />Acquire knowledge of the main investigations to be carried out to assess the auditory function.

The cognitive delay. General details. Clinical picture. Characteristics of communicative-linguistic development. Rehabilitation of prussic aspects correlated with language. Rehabilitation of linguistic levels. Rehabilitation of learning abilities. Rehabilitation of autonomy.<br />The Cochlear Implant. Electrodes. Speech coding strategies. The selection protocol for children, adolescents and adults. Overview of surgical techniques. Intraoperative electrophysiology. The activation and fitting of the Cochlear Implant.
