Learning objectives
The aim of the course is the provide the conceptual and methodological basis to analyze and interprete social issues in the legal system of the EU,not only with regard to the policies of the institutions but also to the protection of fundamental rights and circulation of People. The social perspective is focused ,in a different context from the domestic one,in order develop the use of terminology, knowledge and skills to be framed in the broader context of the Lisbon Treaty and the case law of the Court.

Origin and evolution of the European integration process. The institutional framework of the legal system of the European Union. Citizenship of the European Union. The movement of person and the right to social services and welfare.

Teaching methods
The frontal lessons are devoted to illustrating the fundamentals of EU law resulting from the Treaty and binding and soft law instruments with particular reference to social issues.The implementation of normative data is done with reference to the most relevant case-law
Assessment methods and criteria
The oral examination consist of two moments. First the candidate will be examined on the fundamentals of the subject (legal nature EU, social competences, citizenship, social policies, Nice Charter and social welfare, sources of production, institutions) to verify its basic preparation. Then a question will be asked on a more specific theme to determine to final marke
