Module One. Students attending learn how to write in information leaflet aimed at pharmacy customers or patients.
Module Two. Students attending learn the language skills necessary for making a spoken presentation.
Both modules: Non attending students develop reading skills on scientific texts

Course unit content
The course introduces students of post B1 level who attend lessons to writing and speaking simple texts in scientific English.
Students who do not attend the lessons develop reading skills on scientific texts.

Assessment methods and criteria
Students who attend 75% lessons over the semester may submit one piece of written work at the end of Module One, and if this is satisfactory, take a spoken examination (give a presentation) at the end of Module Two.
Students who do not attend 75% lessons over the semester take a written exam based on the comprehension of scientific texts including articles from journals and newspapers and patient information leaflets.
