Learning objectives
At the end of the course the student shall be able to:Know the design process from the problem setting to their formal translation in Architecture with attention on figuration theme (see contents);Have a critical knowledge of the architectural composition tools and know his importance in the contextual design;Analyse and understand the architecture project in terms of language and author poetic (1st Dublin Descriptor);Apply the knowledge acquired in architectural design referred to Contents (2nd Dublin Descriptor);Have a necessary and essential autonomy of critical judgement (or self-criticism) on the architecture project, declined on the specific themes described in Contents (3rd Dublin Descriptor);Improve communication skills in architecture project scope with respect to the indications described in the Content (4th, 5th Dublin Descriptor).

Course unit content
The architectural and urban design module of the Final Synthesis Laboratory Building recovery and energy redevelopment is an opportunity to deepen the compositional application of the new one next to the existing one to reason on the different scales: the city, the district and the building .
Building in the built is the condition of intervention of Urban Regeneration of these years and needs contextual understanding logic, targeted exercise on the sensitivity of relationships and concrete experiences in the body of the city

Teaching methods
The workshop work through revisions, both individual and collective, of the design work by the students along with a series of lectures, constitute the basic tools of the teaching experience.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course provides verification of learning by evaluating the project as a synthesis of the student's knowledge and ability to apply them. Any other exercises and/or examinations (Ex-Tempore / case study / study) will be evaluated during the year.
The final oral exam consists of an individual interview through which the knowledge and the critical understanding of the constructed architecture (1st Dublin descriptor) will be verified in relation to the project. The interview will also test the communicative and learning / reasoning skills, the clarity of the exhibition and the use of the specific terminology of the discipline (4th, 5th descriptor of Dublin). The ability to apply knowledge will be verified through project work.
During the final test, in the case of group design / exercise, each group member must master all the exercise in its entirety as well as explicit the parts he personally cared for.
