To give to the student the knowledge about the sheep and goat and buffalo productions, and the production of cattle meat. <br />

Course unit content

<p> Dairy sheep, goat and buffalo production: Sheep, goat and buffalo rearing technologies. Milk production and quality. <br />
Cattle meat production: Breeding techniques of beef cattle: choice of the breeders, reproduction, lactation and weaning. Veal calf production, bullock production from milk and beef breeds. Carcass features and meat quality in the different classes. Sheep meat production: Sheep breeding techniques: reproduction, lactation and weaning. Suckling lamb production. Light and heavy lamb production. Castrated male production. Carcass and meat features in the different classes. <br />
Guided visits to cattle, sheep and buffalo herds. <br />
