Learning objectives
The main aim of the Construction Techniques course is to make operational the theoretical contents supplied by the teaching of Construction science, for the purposes of structural design of a work. This is obviously not merely a matter of making operational the theoretical systems which building science adapts for the study of a structure, but of borrowing the general content and adapting it to the mechanical needs of different construction materials.
Prerequisites
Construction science
Course unit content
The content of the course reflects the described objectives and mainly regards the design of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry constructions, with appropriate attention being given, through the study of so-called wind braces, to the correct structural organization of a building and its consequent general stability.
