Learning objectives

Knowledge of the concepts and methods of univariate and bivariate statistics, parametric and non parametric data, useful for chemical applications. Knowledge of data elaboration. capacity of data interpretation

PARAMETRIC STATISTICS
1 - Types of scale and measurements
2 - Normal distribution, other distributions
3 - Comparisons between rates and probability
4 - Alpha and beta errors; a priori and a posteriori power
5 - Student t test
6 - Analysis of variance (ANOVA)
7 - Analysis of variance with two or more criteria
8 - Descriptive statistics for bivariate distributions

The course develops in 48 hours of frontal teching during the which the students are guided to the understanting of the concepts of chemometrics

Written and oral examination to verify the acquisition of basic concepts of chemometrics for data elaboration the ability to use the acquired knowledge to solve new problems as required to friutfully enter the professional life
