Integrated course unit module: MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF DRUG ACTION

Learning objectives

The course "Drug structure and action" provides basic and essential notions on the principles of medicinal chemistry. The most important structural, chemical and physico-chemical properties influencing drug action in the pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic phases are treated. The main targets of drug action and their mechanism are discussed.

Prerequisites

Basic notions of organic chemistry and biochemistry.
