Learning objectives

To provide the cultural bases required to understand the pathogenetic mechanisms of inflammation process.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and anatomy is strongly recommended.

Course unit content

<p> The course will provide the essential elements concerning the pathogenetic mechanisms of inflammatory response. The following subjects will be treated: <br />
Cells involved in inflammatory response. Recognition and phagocitosis. Chemical mediators: cellular mediators and plasmatic mediators. Wound healing mechanisms. Molecular mechanisms of hemostasis. <br />
