Learning objectives

The student will acquire the fundamental knowledge regarding communication processes as processes of social construction and cultural knowledge, the ability to apply these concepts to the contemporary forms of communication.

Course unit content

The topic of the first part of the lessons will be the basic notions about the relationship between perception, knowledge, emotion, communication and culture.
The topic of the second part will be the different forms of communication that interact in contemporary society, and which have arisen in different periods of human history: monocultural, ethnocentric, modernist and cosmopolitan.
A seminar meeting will be devoted to the design of communication processes of the Movement 5 Stelle.

lectures and tutorials, and a thematic seminar.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam, consisting of four open questions, with one hour of time to respond. The oral test is optional, subject to obtaining the written exam with a minimum score of 25/30.
