Learning objectives
The purpose of the course is to provide a more in-depth study of spoken and written English, at the same time encouraging students to reflect upon translation issues.
Prerequisites
With regards to linguistic skills, students are required to have a level of English corresponding to level B1 of the Common European Reference Framework
Course unit content
<p>The course aims to provide a general introduction to the analysis of discourse, offering an overview of the various theoretical approaches to the study of the English language. During the course, issues related to translation will also be dealt with, thus providing the basics of Translation Studies. </p>

Teaching methods
Classroom lectures on language and translation theory, accompanied by practical translation exercises in preparation for the written exam. <br />
Students will be required to take a written test, which will be followed by an oral exam. <br />
