Learning objectives

To achieve the basic knowledge on neurophysiological and neuropsychological aspects of perception and action, learning and memory, language

Course unit content

Motion, shape, colour and depth perception. Neurophysiological bases of visual attention. General organization of the motor system and of motor pathways. Parieto-frontal circuits, mechanisms of sensorimotor integration and organization of intentional actions. The mirror system.
Basic concepts in neuropsychology. Hemispheric lateralization of functions. Spatial neglect. Language and aphasia. Apraxia. Learning. behavioural aspects. Memory: anatomo-functional bases and neuropsychological aspects. Biological bases of learning and memory. Plasticity of the nervous system. Emotions and stress Psychophysiology
