Research topics
The PhD course aims to train highly competent professionals, able to face current and future challenges in the agri-food sector by offering a training plan designed in line with the Next Generation EU strategy. Highly specialized skills are supported by a specific training program in the fields of i) circular bioeconomy, ii) sustainable and precision agriculture and iii) innovative and sustainable productions, complemented by transversal skills to support innovation use of big data and artificial intelligence methodologies.
During the PhD cycle, candidates take part in a highly specialized course dedicated to entrepreneurship and the enhancement of the invention, thanks to the collaboration with the regional ART-ER structure.
Great attention is given to the integration of skills, multi- and transdisciplinary training and internationalisation, through participation in international research projects and interaction with foreign experts through dedicated seminars and meetings.
PhD students are also encouraged to participate in initiatives of interaction with the territory and public engagement, to develop knowledge transfer skills and dialogue with all the components of the food system.
