Learning objectives

The course will identify and define transport systems in order to focus students’ attention on the main transport policy issues set out in various European Community provisions aimed at making the mobility of people and goods more efficient.
The increasing importance of information and communication technologies, in addition, warrants reference to the main European programmes concerning this issue.
The aim of the course is to provide students with the ability to understand the strengths and weaknesses of individual transport modes in terms of time and costs, so that they can identify the changes that must be dealt with to improve the quality of available European transport services at a system level.
