The course intends to present the interface function of cataloguing, its goals and theoretical principles, the technical skills required for organizing and retrieving information in the context of library and information services <br />

Recording and organizing document informations. The catalogue as an interface medium: its goals and and functions.. The cataloguing process. Document analysis. Codes and standars for bibliographic descripion, author and subject indexing. Bibliographies and catalogues as information retrieval devices. <br />
