Learning objectives
The course aims to provide each student with the basic knowledge about the functioning of the economy, and the necessary skills to understand how the main macroeconomic variables (production, employemnt, unemployment etc.) are determined and evolve across time.
Course unit content
The course reviews the main topics in macroeconomics: the equilibrium in financial markets and in the market for goods, the IS-LM model, fiscal and monetary policies in the short run, the medium runa and the AS-AD model, the Phillips curve, th long run growth and the Solow model, the open economy.
