Learning objectives
The course aims to deepen the main legal and institutional profiles of the European Union and its substantive law, with reference to the four freedoms of movement and the most important common policies.

Course unit content
I. Institutional part. Origin and evolution of the process of European integration. The institutional framework. The division of competences between the Union and the Member States. The legal order of the European Union. The relationship between EU law and Italian law. The system of judicial protection. The EU's external action.
II. Special part. The creation of an area of freedom, security and justice. The free movement of persons. The internal market and the common commercial policy. The economic and monetary policy. The Common Foreign and Security Policy and the European Security and Defence Policy.
