Learning objectives
To acquire the basic notions in Electro-Magnetic theory, in particular those relevant in chemistry, and to acquire the ability to perform the main electric measurements.

Course unit content
Fundaments and applications in electromagnetism and electrical measurements.
Full programme
The electric charge, the Coulomb law and the description of electrostatic phenomena using the electric field and the electrostatic potential. Gauss law. The potential generated by a charge distribution.
Electrical properties of matter. Currents and resistance.
Electric phenomena associated to moving charge and the magnetic field. Magnetic fields generated by moving charges and the phenomena of Faraday's induced electrical potential.
Magnetic properties of matter.
Electric circuit with continuum and alternate current and their study.
The unification of electric and magnetic phenomena and Maxwell's equations for the Electro-Magnetism
Experiments on Electromagnetism and electric circuits.
