Integrated course unit module: CONVERSION AND GENERATION FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES

Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to explain the behavior of the main electric machines involved in generation and distribution of electric power.

Prerequisites

Principi e applicazioni dell'ingegneria elettrica.

Course unit content

Module 1.

Energy mix, renewable energy and CO2 emission.
The main renewable electric energy sources: PV, wind energy, hydroelectric energy.
Micro-cogeneration and CCHP.
Electric Power distribution and Electric energy storage systems.
Grid connected systems and smart grids

Monophase trasformer:
equations, equivalent circuits, impedance adaptor,
transfert function , design.
Threephase transformer.
phases connections, joint convertes behavior.
Electromechanical energy conversion.
Macchine elettriche in corrente continua:
Basic rotating machines:
equations, models, speed regulation.
