Learning objectives
The student must possess a general understanding of the major literary and cultural events of the 20th century yuppie and historical facts relating to the Latin American reality.
Knowing how to make reasoned and grounded references to the author and to the works that will be analysed during the course.
Knowing how to understand and analyze the poetic texts in their original language, both from a stylistic point of view formal and in content.
Knowing how to grasp and explain the links between the artistic journey of the author and the geographical context, social and historical and bibliographic information related to the topics of the course.
Knowing how to grasp and explain relationships between themselves the texts of the author, the similarities and differences compared to other contemporary authors in Vallejo; knowing how to build pathways to the original reading of the work by this author.

Course unit content
The lessons will aim to propose some trails and interpretive approaches to understand and better appreciate the value of the work of the Peruvian poet César Vallejo, one of the most significant voices in the hispanoamerican literary history. The subject of the course will be the entire human and artistic journey of writer, from the modernist poems in Los heraldos negros to the engaged and antirhetorical lines of España, aparta de mí este cáliz, to which the teacher means dedicating a deepening.
