Learning objectives
Acquisition of skills and tools about the evolution of the economy of the Europe from the fifteenth century to the twentieth century. In particular, the main objective is the
formation of a critical consciousness with which to read the evolution of economic events, in the past, as well as in contemporary times.

Course unit content
The course is structured in two modules:
1. The firstThe first intends to highlight and analyze, in a diachronic perspective, some major issues concerning the evolution of the economic systems and institutions, to provide an effective introduction to the issues and problems faced by other disciplines studied.
2. The second one outlines the evolution of the European economy from the English industrial revolution to the present day, emphasizing the economic, social and cultural changes produced by industrialization and economic development. The second part will be devoted to the growing integration of the international economy, to the technological innovations and to the changes in contemporary economic sectors.
