Learning objectives
This course aims to let the students know and understand basic elements of techniques, semeiotic, and clinical indications of the cardio-pulmonary imaging techniques. It also aims to let the students achieve both knowledge and comprehension of the imaging techniques to be used for the assessement of the major cardio-pulmonary disorders.
ACHIEVEMENTS FROM THE LEARNING STEPS:
At the end of this course, students will have to combine their knowledge in cardio-pulmonary physiology and clinical data to prove their comprehension of the following items:
-radiographic and computed tomography abnormalities of the chronic obstructive and restrictive pulmonary disorders
-the importance of the combination of the imaging and clinical data to diagnose acute lung diseases suh as pulmonary oedema and thromboembolism
-basic imaging features of lung cancer
-basic imaging features of pulmonary infections
-indications of the use of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging for the assessment of the cardiac disease
In addition, students will have to show to correctly suggest the best imaging techniques for the assessment of the respiratory disorders by applying their achieved knowledge and comprehension
